In 1995 Hasbro started to release re-designed Star Wars figures for the new generation. By now sculpting methods were far better so this line of figures looks a lot more realistic than the original line. Despite there being no plans for even a re-release of the original trilogy at the time of the new line's release, let alone talk of new prequels, the toys were very popular.
